Maxine S. Whitaker

Maxine S. Whitaker, age 84, of Silver Lake, IN passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 5:50 PM in Miller’s Merry Manor Warsaw, IN. She was born May 14, 1929 in Floyd County, KY to Cager and Duce (Hackworth) Spradlin. He was a 52 year resident of Silver Lake, IN. On May 21, 1946 in Prestonsburg, KY she was united in marriage to Ellis Whitaker who preceded her on October 21, 1987. She was a 33-year employee of Heckaman Bindery of North Manchester, IN retiring in 2004. She attended Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church, God’s Highway to Heaven Church and Water of Life Pentecostal Church. Survivors include her son Lloyd (spouse Pearlie) Whitaker of Silver Lake, IN; grandchildren Angela Davis of Akron, IN and Scott (spouse Kelly) Whitaker of Bourbon, IN; great-grandchildren Zachary Scott, Paige, Lauryn, Haley and Hunter and a brother Estill (spouse Arbdella) Spradlin of Marshall, MI. Her husband, six brothers, one sister and great-grandson Austin Ellis preceded her. Services are scheduled for Monday June 24, 2013 at 12:00 PM in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, IN. Calling hours will be from 1:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Funeral Chapel. Pastors Harry Crace and Junior Arnett will officiate the services.
