Max Clingaman, age 79, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 2:12 AM, following a three-year battle with cancer. He was born to Leon and Lavon (Metzger) Clingaman on January 25, 1939 in Peru, IN. Max graduated from Sidney High School, Class of 1957. He was united in marriage on November 13, 1960 in the Eel River Church of the Brethren, Silver Lake, to Janis K. Mishler, the love of his life. He faithfully served his Country in the United States Air Force from September 1961 to September 1965 with the 1919th Communications Squadron as an airman First Class during the Vietnam War. Max was employed as Journeyman Printer with R.R. Donnelley and Sons and the Lakeside Press, Warsaw with 42 years of service, retiring in 2000. He was member of the First United Methodist Church, Warsaw and Warsaw Masonic Lodge #73 where he was a 50-year member. Max was a very kind and caring person who was a recipient of the “Heart of Gold Award” presented by the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. He was known for investing in and giving of his time to his family, friends, and his community. His life and legacy will be lovingly remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren and his many friends. Max is survived by his wife Janis Clingaman of Warsaw, children Wende (spouse Scott) Tucker of Warsaw and Rod (spouse Shannon) Clingaman of Mason, OH. In addition, grandchildren Zach (spouse Gabby) Tucker of Warsaw, Alli Tucker of Washington, DC, and Taylor and Kennedy Clingaman of Mason, OH survive. He was preceded by his parents and a brother, Don Clingaman. Visitation hours are scheduled from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, December 14, 2018, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. His Funeral Service also at McHatton-Sadler, is scheduled Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 11:00 AM with calling one-hour prior. Pastor Brian Smith of the First United Methodist Church will officiate, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, to follow.
