Mary Owens

ALBION- Mary E. Owens, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 22, 2023.

Born in Prestonsburg, Kentucky on October 14, 1935, Mary was the daughter of James B. and Elsie (Poe) Gibson. She graduated from Prestonsburg High School with the class of 1953.

She moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan with her family in 1953 and met the love of her life, Charles C. Owens, in March of 1954. They were married on August 28, 1954 and treasured their almost 67 years together. He would proceed her in death in 2021.

Mary was a loving wife and mother and was very good at growing green things. She loved animals and was a cat whisperer. She was always supportive and taught her family perseverance.

She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte E. (Tim Arnold) Owens of Las Vegas, NV; siblings: Billy (Beverly) Gibson, Rhoda (Lester) Wright and sister-in-law, Kristie Gibson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings: John, Burl, Michael, Darvin and Carlas Tomic.

Per her wishes, no services will be held.
