Mary Maxine Sleighter

Mary Maxine Sleighter, age 90, formally of Pierceton, IN passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 6:50 PM in North Ridge Village Nursing Rehab Center, Albion IN. She was born January 18, 1921 in Ft. Wayne to Thurman G. and Nellie (Birtwhistle) Busz. She lived in Pierceton for many years and then moved to Columbia City for 20 years. She married David C. Sleighter February 1944.She was a Homemaker and worked for the family business, Sleighter Brothers Gas Service in Pierceton. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Mary is survived by her Two daughters Diana (and spouse Robert) Ritchie of Kimmell, IN., and Beverly (and spouse Douglas) Metz of Leesburg, IN., A son David L. Sleighter of Columbia City, IN., a step daughter, Karen (and spouse Charles) Levitz of Columbia City, IN., brother James (and spouse Janice) Busz of Pierceton, IN. and two sister, Ada Finken of Pierceton and Lois Sleighter of Columbia City. 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one grand daughter. Mary enjoyed square dancing, traveling and loved country music. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, IN. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton The Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
