Mary Katherine (Schilling) Riehle, 71 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 9:00 am Friday, June 27, 2014 in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. On August 13, 1942, Kay was born in Santa Maria, California to E. William and Marietta (Darnell) Schilling. She was united in marriage to David L. Riehle on June 26, 1964 in Lafayette, Indiana, who survives. A current resident of Warsaw, she was raised in Lafayette, Indiana and lived in Connersville, Indiana for thirty years. Kay was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw. She was a Girl Scout leader, a member of Tri Kappa Sorority and St. Anne’s Altar Society. She also was a member of the Early Childhood Study Group. Kay was an avid reader and enjoyed performances she attended at the Wagon Wheel Theatre and Amish Acres Round Barn. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, David L. Riehle, Warsaw; two daughters, Christina (and spouse Rick) Coon, Decatur and Julia A. (and spouse Fred) Krueger, Petersburg; two sisters, Carol (and spouse Randy) Harrell, New Port Coast, California and Joan (and spouse Bill) Carrico, Waterford, Michigan; one brother, Ernest H. (and spouse Ali) Schilling, Michigan and six grandchildren, Ethan, Nathaniel, Tanner and Delia Krueger, Petersburg, Trenton and Ronald J. Coon, Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents, E. William and Marietta Schilling and a grandson, William Albert Coon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw with Father Phil DeVolder officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in Culver Masonic Cemetery, Culver. Visitation hours will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A rosary will be at 8:00 pm Tuesday, at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Tuition Fund, 135 North Harrison Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580 or to New Beginnings Church Food Bank, Atwood, Indiana.
