Mary Catherine Baker

Mary Catherine Baker, 93, of South Whitley, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Timbercrest Senior Living, North Manchester.


Mary was born on November 3, 1930 in Wabash County the daughter of the late Vance and Glades (Baker) Craig. She was united in marriage to Rene Frank Baker on February 24, 1948 who preceded her in 2008.


Mary was a graduate of Pierceton High School and she was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County.


She worked as a Qualified Medicine Assistant for Prairie View Nursing Home. Mary was a member of the Eel River Community Church in Pierceton.


Mary will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Linda Hampton of South Whitley; 5 grandchildren, Ben (Elizabeth) Wise, Jacob (Sheila) Wise, Brittany Rager, Erika Rager, Jenna Rager, and 6 great grandchildren, Cale Wise, Samuel Wise and Vivian Wise, Patrick and Nolan Stump and Creed Lloyd. In addition to her parents and her husband Rene, she was preceded by a son Brian Laine Baker in 2014.


A visitation will be from 11:00-12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at McHatton-Sadler Pierceton Funeral Chapel, 105 S. 1st St, Pierceton. A graveside service will immediately follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
