Martha E. Robinson, 103, peacefully passed away with family by her side at 4:50 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Paddock Springs Health Campus in Warsaw.
Born on August 17, 1922 in Wabash, Indiana, Martha was the daughter of Elva and Alvah DuBois. She graduated from Manchester College and taught school until 1949.
On August 22, 1943 at Wabash Friends Church in Wabash, Indiana, she was united in marriage to Elburn Dean “Gay” Robinson. The couple would welcome five children.
Martha and Gay created Robinson Construction Inc. of Warsaw, IN and were founding partners in the Holiday Inns in Wabash and Warsaw; Warsaw Airport Industrial Park and Medcast, Inc. (now Texmo). They also built numerous commercial buildings throughout the county. Martha was heavily involved in the 4-H, serving as a leader for several years in the county. She worked full-time until she was 94 years-old and then part-time until she was 97.
She was very family-oriented and passed her strong values of honesty, integrity, and hard work to her children. Martha and Gay enjoyed taking their children on long driving vacations around the country, visiting beautiful sites, and spending time with extended family. They also enjoyed spending time in Kauai, Hawaii each winter.
She enjoyed bowling with her bowling league on her Monday night out. Martha enjoyed water walking in the pool at the YMCA for years to help her stay fit. She was known for her beautiful smile and kindness.
Martha is survived by her five children: Dan J. (Cheryl) Robinson of Warsaw, Marta Gay Hopkins (Larry Coplen) of Warsaw, Douglas K. (Mary) Robinson of Warsaw, Dennis A. (Sarah) Robinson of Warsaw and daughter-in-law Lisa Robinson of Warsaw.; “adopted” son Dan (Marlene) Hoffer of Elberta, AL; 10 grandchildren Jackie (Ron) Bradley, Brent (Julie) Robinson, Lori (Bill) Ladwig, Kim Bouldin, Brandon (Misty) Robinson, Julie Robinson, Hilary Robinson, Steve Robinson, Leslie (Dustin) Willis, Ben Robinson; 9 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gay in 2010, her son Gregg, her parents and brothers and sister.
“To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die”. The Robinson family extends heartfelt thanks to the friends, family, and caregivers who supported Martha in her final days.
Visitation will be held from 11-1 p.m. on Monday October 20, 2025 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Doug Lemon officiating.
Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
