Marjorie L. Chappell

Marjorie L. Chappell, age 89 of Winona Lake, IN passed away June 9, 2011 at 9:00 am in Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake, IN. She was born January 14, 1922 in Arapaho, CO to Leanord Bush Francis (Sly) Rich. Marjorie was a Winona Lake, IN resident since 1969. On July 22, 1945 in Bario-Tanauan Commonwealth of Philippines she was united in marriage to Paul E. Chappell. Paul preceded her in 2001. She was a homemaker and formerly employed by Grace College, Winona Lake, IN as a Librarian. She was a member of Community Bible Church of Warsaw, IN. Marjorie faithfully served her country in the United States Army as a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Corps (WAC) in the Pacific Theater during WWII. She is survived by her daughter Judith Childers of Warsaw, IN; sons Richard Chappell of Battle Mountain, NV; Donald Chappell of Winona Lake, IN; Thomas Chappell of Mansfield, TX; Charles Chappell of Winona Lake, IN, sisters Maxine and Beatrice and brothers Jerold and Bob. In addition she is survived by14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Her husband, 1 grandson, 5 brothers and 2 Sisters preceded her. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 1:00 pm in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00 pm on the day of the funeral service. Pastor Richard Chappell of the First Baptist Church of Battle Mountain will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, IN.
