Marjorie E. Himes

Marjorie E. Himes, 79 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 7:45 pm Monday, January 19, 2015 in Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, Indiana. On April 17, 1935, she was born in Warsaw, Indiana to Paul and Eloise (Cook) Huffer. She was united in marriage to Ronald Himes, April of 1954 in Warsaw, who survives. A lifetime resident of Warsaw, Marjorie, graduated from Atwood High School, Class of 1953. She worked for John Snell Apparel Shop for seventeen years and then worked as a bookkeeper for Division of Family and Children for twenty eight years, retiring in 1996. Marjorie attended Clunette United Methodist Church. She was a member of D.A.R. and a former member of Club 55 Home – Ec Club. She served as a board member for the Prairie Township Advisory Board and served on the Historical Society Board for several years. She enjoyed cats, Metzger Auctions and Warsaw High School basketball. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Ronald Himes, Warsaw; her son, Garry (and spouse Connie) Himes, Warsaw; five grandchildren, Beth (and spouse James) Weddell, Noblesville, Matt (and spouse Rachelle) Himes, Warsaw, Brad Himes, Brock Himes and Brianna Himes all of Warsaw. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Alexis, Morgan, Nolan, Alex and Katelyn. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Robert Himes and her brother, Douglas Lane Huffer. Funeral services will be private and there is no visitation hours planned. A Celebration of Life for Marjorie will be at a later date. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
