Marion “Marilyn” Savant

Marion “Marilyn” Savant, age 86, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at 9:49 AM in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on June 3, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Clarence and Marie (Woehna) Payne. She was united in marriage to Jessie Savant Sr. on December 31, 1978 in Warsaw. Marilyn grew up in Chicago. She then moved to Marshall County for 21 years before moving to Kosciusko for the remainder of her life. During her 20’s she worked for Wagner Wire. After marrying Jessie; she was able to become a full-time homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #49. She and Jessie enjoyed visiting Louisiana once a year to sight see. In addition, she loved her grandchildren, helping people, and her sweets; especially chocolate. Marilyn did not know a stranger; in fact, it is said that she could talk to a post and make it answer back! She is survived by her Husband; Jessie Savant Sr. of Warsaw, Children; Diana Shively of Osceola, IN, Richard DeWitt of Mishawaka, IN, Robert DeWitt of Osceola, IN, Debra (spouse John) Frame of Osceola, IN, Jessie Savant Jr. of Warsaw, Julie (spouse Arnulfo) Trevino of Harlingen, TX, Brother; Clifton Payne of Chicago, IL, 18 Grandchildren and 24 Great-Grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her Parents, 2 Children; Joe and Johnny Savant, 5 Siblings and 1 Grandchild. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 1:00 PM in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Visitation hours will be two hours prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastor Terry Bradford will officiate the Funeral Service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
