Margueretta C. 'Peggy' Burnett

Margueretta C. “Peggy” Burnett, 98, of Mooresville, Indiana died in her home on December 15, 2011 at 10:05 a.m. with her family in attendance. She was born on February 16, 1913 in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Joseph E. Cash and Josephine Uldrich Cash. She attended Morristown High School in Morristown, NJ where she met her future husband George P. Burnett whom she married in 1937. After high school, she attended the College of St. Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ. and All Souls Hospital, Morristown, NJ., where she became a registered nurse. In subsequent years, she was a registered nurse in three states; New Jersey, Illinois, and Indiana. Upon George’s retirement from the Prudential Insurance Company, they moved to Warsaw, In. where they lived for 32 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Warsaw, St. Paul’s Church in Marion, In., and Our Lady of the Greenwood in Greenwood, IN. She was actively pro life. She was an avid square dancer and called rounds for 10 years. The Burnetts wintered in Florida where they worked in the Migrant Literacy Council and were awarded the Volunteer of the year award. They tutored migrant workers in Florida and Vietnamese migrants in Warsaw. Survivors include: 2 daughters Mrs. Herb (Ellen) Spitzer, Marion, IN and Mrs. Mike (Ann) Kreicker, Indianapolis, IN; one son George Jr. (and wife Mary Ann Tawney) Burnett, Bluegrass, Iowa; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband George and her daughter Alyce Tylicki. Services are entrusted to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home in Warsaw on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 4:00-7:30pm with sharing time at 6:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 12:00 Noon with Father Phil DeVolder officiating. Burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana. Memorials are to made to Indiana Right to Life and St. Paul’s Church in Arcadia, Fla.
