Margaret 'Peg' Knoop

Margaret 'Peg' Knoop, 85, of Winona Lake, Indiana and formerly of Bedford, Indiana., died on 5/22/2010 at 2:45 am at Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake, Indi. She was born on December 2, 1924 in Springville, Indiana. She was born to Aldyce and Blanche (Moore) Jackson, the tenth of ten children. She was adopted and raised by her aunt and uncle, Gilbert and Nettie (Jackson) Kern. On March 3, 1946, in Long Beach, California, she married Lowell W. Knoop, who survives. Peg graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1942 and did secretarial work at Purdue University. During WW II she worked for ALCOA Aluminum Company in Lafayette, IN, later becoming a homemaker. Peg and Lowell were active in Lay Witness Missions for twelve years and were most recently members of the Warsaw Church of God. Peg and her husband Lowell lived in Warsaw from 1953 to 1963, then resided in Lafayette and Bedford, before returning to Grace Village in Winona Lake five years ago. Also surviving are two sons, Gilbert (and Janis Pritchard) Knoop, Claypool; and Richard (and Denise Cline) Knoop, Florissant, MO; two grandsons, Samuel (and Rachael Leiter) Knoop and Benjamin (and Lauren Ratz) Knoop; one granddaughter, Aimee Knoop (and Jason) Crowe; five great grandchildren, Jacob, Delaney and Amelia Knoop and Gabrielle and Gracey Crowe; and one brother, Robert Jackson of Houston Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, three brothers, and one step-sister. Services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 10:30 am. Calling hours will be Monday, May 24, 2010 on 6:00 - 8:00 pm and 1 hour before the service . Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Claypool, Indiana. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
