Lynn E. 'Doc' Wampler

Lynn E. 'Doc' Wampler, 64, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 5/9/2010 at 1:07 am at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on November 8, 1945 in Dodge City, Kansas. Lynn was the Son of Ernest L. and Faith J. (Wall) Wampler Jr. He lived most of his adult life in Kosciusko County. He married Barbara L. Leedy on September 25, 1965 in Disco, Indiana.He served in the U.S. Army, 1st Infantry Division as an MP in Vietnam from 1965-1967.Lynn was appointed to the Indiana State Police on January 28, 1973, retiring from duty on March 1, 2004 as a Master Trooper.He graduated from North Manchester High School and also from ITT Technical Institute with an Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology in 1972.Lynn is survived by his Wife; Barbara L. Wampler, Warsaw, IndianaSon; Jeffrey L. (and spouse Brandi) Wampler, Warsaw, IndianaGrandson; Colton L. Wampler, Warsaw, IndianaFather; Ernest L. Wampler Jr., North Manchester, Indiana Services will be held at Graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 11:00 am with Chaplain Bill Richardson officiating. Calling hours will be 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral chapel on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana with military honors..
