Lowell L. Sharp, 85, of Columbia City, Indiana, died on 7/9/2009 at 1:30 AM at Miller's Merry Manor Columbia City, Indiana. He was born on March 7, 1924 in Syracuse, Indiana. Lowell was born to Fielden and Muriel (Baker) Sharp. He was a lifetime resident of the Warsaw, Indiana and Columbia City, Indiana areas. He was united in marriage to Vivian Rowe on June 7, 1947. Vivian preceded him in death in 2005. He was a former Times-Union Newspaper employee and was printer for the United Telephone Company for 18 years. Lowell was a past member of the American Legion. Lowell faithfully served his nation in the United States Coast Guard as a Signalman Third Class from 1943 to 1946. Lowell served aboard the USS Amethyst. Lowell is survived by his loving family, including his daughter-Mary Kim Miller of Columbia City, Indiana; his son Lowell F. Sharp of South Carolina, his brother Ron Sharp of Syracuse, Indiana, his sister Shirley Gardner of Orlando, Florida and 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Vivian, Lowell was preceded by his parents, one bropther, and his son-in-law Michael Miller. Funeral service will be privately held and not open to the public. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery Warsaw, Indiana. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel - Warsaw, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
