Lowell Blanchard Dobbs

Lowell Blanchard Dobbs, 80, of Pierceton passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Grace Village Retirement, Winona Lake.


Lowell was born on April 12, 1942, in Stearns, Kentucky, the son of George and Dovie (Gregory) Dobbs. He was united in marriage to Betty Hapner.


He worked as a CNC machine operator for Zimmer, retiring in 2001. He was the owner of Lowell’s C.B. Sales, Pierceton. Lowell enjoyed music, playing in “Country Swinger,” “Country Outlaws,” “Southern Praise,” and “Stove Pipe Hollar” bands. He also enjoyed traveling with the group Southern Praise, visiting 13 nursing homes monthly, and Thursday Night Jammers at Grace Village. He was a member of Dutchtown Brethren.


Lowell will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty Dobbs of Pierceton; daughter Loranna (Johnnie) Goble of Pierceton, stepson Richard Fireline Jr (Audrey) of Goshen, grandchildren Esther Fireline, Loranna (Drew) Shilling, Jamie (Jerry) Reiff, 3 great-grandchildren and his sister Vella Carender. He was preceded in passing by both parents and a sister.


A visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Ct. Warsaw. Funeral services in celebration of Lowell’s life will begin at 12:00 pm in the funeral chapel with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Graveside service will take place on Friday, November 25, 2022, at 3:00 pm in Sherd-Dobbs Cemetery, Kentucky.
