Louis “Lou” Salvatore Biondi passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, having lived and enjoyed 80 years devoted to and loved by his family and many friends. Lou was born in Rome on January 10, 1937, the youngest child of the late Edgardo and Ausila (Marino) Biondi, Sr. He was a 1954 graduate of Rome Free Academy. Lou married his high school sweetheart Faith Smith on June 1, 1957 at St. Peters Church in Rome Lou and Faith lived the majority of their lives in Rome, having bought their first home on Liberty Street in 1962, they lived there for 51 years until moving to Winona Lake, Indiana for health reasons. Lou had various jobs, including one as a Rome Police Officer, until securing a job with New York Life Insurance Company as an underwriter in January 1967. He retired in 1999 after 32 years of service. Lou was a member of the Rome Jaycees, the Elks and a past president of the Mohawk Beagle Club. Lou was an avid hunter and fisherman teaching many of his family members to enjoy and respect the outdoors. He was also active in bowling and golf leagues. Lou leaves behind his wife, Faith, their three daughters, Jody (Jeff) Glindmyer, Lori (Tim) Early, Julie Biondi, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also, survived by his brother, Edgardo (Rosetta) Biondi, Jr. and sister, Louise DiFondi. Services will be held at a later date in Bottini Funeral Home, Rome, New York.
