Louis Lee Van Doren

Louis Lee Van Doren, 69 of Rochester, Indiana passed away at 12:42 am on Friday, December 28, 2012 in his residence. On December 26, 1943, he was born in Kosciusko County to Billie and Patricia (Rohler) Van Doren. He married Frances Kirkendall on July 3, 1964 in Warsaw, who survives. Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, Louis was a graduate of Warsaw High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the beginning of the Vietnam Conflict. He moved to Harlinger, Texas for twelve years until returning to Indiana in 2006. He was self contracted in mail delivery for various branches of the U.S. Post Office, retiring in the early 1980's. He also worked for Transpo Senior Bus Service, Rochester and the Confederate Air Force, Harlinger, Texas. Louis was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rochester, the Eagles Lodge, Rochester, HAM Radio Club, Warsaw and The Good Sam Club, Warsaw. He enjoyed having friends over to visit as well as going to their homes to visit. Louis is survived by his wife, Frances Van Doren, Rochester; a sister, Susan (and spouse Wayne) Fretz, Warsaw; a sister-in-law, Rita (and spouse Roger) Laird, Warsaw and several nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Sunday, December 30, 2012 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation hours will be from 1:00 - 3:00 pm Sunday, December 30,2 2012 at the funeral chapel.
