Linda Ann Byers, age 73, passed away May 3, 2026 at home, surrounded by family, and was welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Savior. Born in Warsaw, IN to Edward and Evelyn Kinsey, she started attending First Baptist Church Warsaw as a teen becoming active in the youth group where she met her husband. Linda married Dennis Oliver Byers, on June 2, 1972.
Linda had a servant’s heart. She poured herself into others first as a pastor’s wife in California, and later as a bank teller in Indiana, where she worked for many years. She was known for her deep love of family and for the wonderful meals she cooked for everyone who gathered around her table.
Linda and Dennis retired to Sebring, Florida, where they served together in their community at Maranatha Village. There she found great joy in singing in the choir, volunteering in the library, and reading her Bible. She treasured her favorite passage, Ephesians 2:8–9, and her favorite hymn was “There Is Joy in Serving Jesus.” She also did her best to keep up with her grandchildren back in Indiana.
Linda is survived by her husband, Dennis Byers; her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Eric Bohnke; her sons and daughters-in-law, Matt and Amber Byers and Micah and Mandee Byers; eight grandchildren, Aubrey, Gage, Levi, Ezra, Phoebe, and Raden Byers, and Ruth and Emma Bohnke; her brother, Jerry Kinsey; and sisters-in-law, Kathy Kinsey, Dorothy Sowers, and Colene Price.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Bruce Kinsey and Duane Clements; and her grandchildren, Quorra Byers and Tate Bohnke.
Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Many thanks to Good Shepherd Hospice Sebring, FL for their loving care.
