Lester L. Shand, 89 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 10:45 pm Monday, July 27, 2015 in Parkview Regional medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. On January 3, 1926, he was born in Warsaw, Indiana to William and Linney (Sell) Shand. Lester was one of seven children. He was united in marriage to Beulah Marie Stanley on December 20, 1944. She preceded him in death on Jul 22, 1997. Lester worked in maintenance for Endicott Church Furniture and then worked as a foreman for Laminated Rafters. He then worked as a machinist for DePuy, retiring in 1991. He was the loving father of daughters, Judy K. Gallaher of Burnettsville, Joyce (and spouse Randy) Hardesty of Rochester and sons, Stanley (and spouse Celia) Shand of Lafayette and Steven (and spouse Wanda) Shand of Fort Wayne. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Shannon M. Smith, Shane L. (and spouse Summer) Smith, Blake E. (and spouse Molly) Hardesty, Shelby L. Livengood, Tiffanie D. (and spouse Jason) Bolen, Kimberly K. (and spouse Travis) Coffey, Skipper S. (and spouse Amy) Shand, Shelley A. (and spouse Todd) Swymeler, seventeen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Matthew S. Hardesty and Seth A. Shand. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 31, 2015 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating of Kosciusko Homecare and Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation hours will be from 4; 00 8:00 pm Thursday, July 30, 2015 in the funeral chapel.
