Leroy Russell Olsen

LeRoy Russell Olsen, 75, of Warsaw IN, passed away on at 10:36 a.m. May 20, 2015 in his residence from his battle to cancer. He was born December 23, 1939 in Chicago IL to Doris (Lindquist) and Russell Olsen. On February 14, 2004 he married Wanda (Plank). He served in the United States Air Force in the special operations unit. He worked for Brown Root which took him to many foreign countries including Saudi Arabia, Guatemala, Taiwan, Scotland, in addition to working on the Alaskan pipeline. Lee loved fishing, especially in the Gulf of Mexico, reading, watching football and Nascar – favorite driver Tony Stewart. He enjoyed living in Texas and was not fond of Indiana winters. Lee is survived by wife Wanda, four children Glenna, Lisa, Jennifer and Lee Edward Olsen all from Sarasota FL. Three stepchildren, Sonia DeGaetano, Kathy Buckheit, and Lori (and spouse Mike) Morel all from Warsaw and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He has a sister and brother in Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. A memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be given in to the wonderful nurses and staff of Kosciusko Home Health Care and Hospice. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted to the family for the arrangements.
