Lawrence T. Elkins, 83, of Winona Lake, Indiana, died on 9/7/2010 at 10:55 am at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born on November 1, 1926 in Pikeville, Kentucky. Lawrence was born to A.D. and Letha (Mullins) Elkins. He moved to Kosciusko County from Kentucky in 1952. He married Bobbie Calhoun on May 7, 1953 in Pikeville, Kentucky.Lawrence was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict with the Engineers. He retired from Zimmer Inc. after 23 years and was a member of Northern Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church.He is survived by his Wife; Bobbie Elkins, Winona Lake, IndianaDaughter; Anna Jean Watkins, North Webster, Indiana2 Sons; Larry Elkins, Claypool, Indiana Dodge Elkins, Warsaw, Indiana4 Sisters; June Harmon, Warsaw, Indiana Mathel Vanover, Myra, Kentucky Fran Whitt, Jonesville, VirginiaLinda Elkins, Coldwater, Michigan3 Brothers; John and Verdell Elkins, both of Coldwater, MichiganGeorge Elkins, Myra, Kentucky5 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.He is preceded in death by a Sister, 2 Brothers and 1 Grandson. Services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Elder Estill Hamilton officiating.. Calling hours will be 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral chapel on Thursday, September 9, 2010. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana is in charge of arrangements. The family request memorial contributions be made to Kosciusko Homecare and Hospice, P.O. Box 1196, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1196.
