Larry F. Mellott, 78 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 6:07 pm Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. On August 3, 1937, he was born in Warsaw to DeWitt C. and Helen L. (Firestone) Mellott. He was united in marriage to Geneal Sponseller Heagy on June 20, 2008 in Warsaw, who survives. A lifetime resident of Warsaw, Larry worked as a youth, for the Times Union Newspaper as a paper carrier and later worked for Ramsey News Stand. He then worked for Thornburg Drugs for twenty seven years. Larry was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw where he sang in the choir. He graduated from Warsaw High School, Class of 1955. He was an organizer for all of the class reunions with help. He was a member of the Model T Club and “Mayberry” Monday Night Garage Club. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid hunter and became the adopted son of the Bill Robinson Family in Kaycee, Wyoming for eighteen years. Larry is survived by his wife, Geneal Mellott, Warsaw; six cousins, Karen Bradt, Warsaw, Susan (and spouse Red) Wiggins, Warsaw, John Firestone, Warsaw, Bob (and spouse Linda) Firestone, Sebring, Florida, Ray (and spouse Fran) Grau, Walbridge, Ohio, Maurine Reynolds, Toledo, Ohio; two step children, Nanette (and spouse Lester) Pierce, Warsaw, Hal (and spouse Geri) Heagy, Warsaw and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He is also survived by his beloved dog, “Tucker”. He is preceded in death by his parents and a step daughter, Jalaine Brumfield. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Dave Hummel officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation hours will be from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon Saturday, June 18, 2016 in the funeral chapel.
