Kent D. Bragg I, 72 of Morristown, Tennessee, passed away at 1:35 am, July 27, 2016 in Hamblen County Memorial Hospital, Morristown, Tennessee. On December 19, 1943, Kent was born in Huntington, Indiana to Kenneth and Winifred (Hensel) Bragg. He married Carol L. Elder on September 28, 1972 in Calhoun, Georgia. Kent served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Essex (CVS-9). He was a member of the American Legion Post #258, Pierceton and also belonged to the VFW Post m#1126, Warsaw. He was an orthopedic machinist for DePuy, Warsaw for twenty eight years, retiring in 2006. He then relocated to Morristown, Tennessee. Kent is survived by his wife, Carol L. Bragg, Morristown, Tennessee; five children, Randall (and spouse Angi) Lewis, Sarasota, Florida, Katheryn Lewis- Wolford, Claypool, Indiana, Michele (and spouse Lane) Lewis – Morgan, Morristown, Tennessee, Crystal (and spouse Noah) Bragg – Simison, Warsaw, Indiana and Kent (and spouse Rachel) Bragg II, Talbott, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Erikia Wolford and Paul, Nicole (and spouse Gabe) Morgan – Wilkins, Desiree Wolford, Niressa Morgan, Ash Simison, Katelyn Bragg, Mason Simison, Michael and Megan Bragg; two great grandchildren, Levi and Thea Eberly; Sister, Janet Swales, Decatur and father-in-law, Max Miller, Leesburg. Kent was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Florence Miller and brother-in-law, Charles Swales. No public services are planned. Burial with military honors will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Legion Circle at 11:00 am Friday, September 2, 2016. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post #258, Pierceton and the Military Funeral Honors Guard. Memorial contributions may be made in Kent’s name to American Legion Post #258, 104 North First Street, Pierceton, Indiana 46562. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted with the arrangements.
