Kenneth Truman

November 2, 1930 — April 28, 2023

Kenneth O. Truman, 92, of Winona Lake, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Stillwater Hospice Care, Fort Wayne, Indiana.


Kenneth was born November 2, 1930 in Warsaw, Indiana the son of (the late) Owen B. and Edna (Weirick) Truman. He was united in marriage to Sally (Aker) Truman on December 21, 1952 who survives.


He was a 1948 graduate of Warsaw High School, a 1952 graduate of Ball State University, and attended graduate school at Notre Dame University in 1954 after his commitment to the Army was completed. He served in the Adjutant General’s Corps of the US Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954 and was honorably discharged at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri.


He was one of the owner operators of Warsaw Plating Works, Inc. for 46 years, retiring as the President and CEO in 2001. He served on the Warsaw City Council during one of Mayor Mike Hodges’ administrations from 1972 to 1974.


Kenneth enjoyed flying and had his private pilots rating. He owned and flew several different types of aircraft. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and held a membership at Tippecanoe Lake Country Club. Kenneth was a life member of the American Legion Post #49 Warsaw and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Warsaw.


Kenneth will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 70 years, Sally Truman, Winona Lake; sons: Mitchell B. (Denise) Truman, Leesburg, and Tracy J. Truman, North Webster; 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by his parents.
