Kenneth Shepherd

Kenneth Shepherd, age  89, of Sidney, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. in his residence. Kenneth was born on March 3, 1931 in Salyersville, Kentucky to Raleigh and Virgie (Hale) Shepherd. He was united in marriage to Belvia Allen on August 1, 1958 in Silver Lake, Indiana who passed away August 24, 2019. Kenneth proudly served his country in the US Army as a Private 1st Class during the Korean Conflict.   He retired from Conrail Railroad working as a trackman and a welder. Kenneth is survived by children; Brenda (David) Peyton of Monticello, IL, Marvin Shepherd of Sidney, IN, grandchildren; Ryan (Catie)Peyton, Jennifer (Shaun) Peyton, Michael Peyton, great grandchildren; Palmer, Theo, Ensley, and Jackson, siblings; Edward Shepherd, Eugene Shepherd, Joyce Hale, Jewel Joseph, Kermit Shepherd, James Shepherd, Haskel Shepherd and Janet Conley. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, wife Belvia Shepherd and several siblings. A visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the funeral chapel with Pastor Etsie Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton with military honors rendered by the Pierceton American Legion Post #258. Due to current COVID-19 recommendations, masks are required.  The public is kindly requested to provide their own. Social distancing is strongly encouraged. No food permitted at this time.
