Karen Thomas

Karen Sue Thomas, 82, of Winona Lake, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 surrounded by family and was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus.

Karen was born on August 14. 1940 in Mentone, the daughter of Wilbur and Garnet (Kiefer) Latimer. She was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School and attended International Business College in Fort Wayne.

She worked as a clerk for Kosciusko County Treasurer Office for 30 years and retired. Karen enjoyed gardening, and being with her grandchildren was her joy in life. She attended Warsaw Community Church and was active in the group “50 Something,” and many other Bible studies and volunteered at WCC. She also volunteered at KCH and showed sheep at the Kosciusko County Fair and the State Fair.

Karen will be lovingly remembered by her children Kelly (Tom) Wogoman of Warsaw and Brian (Wendy) Thomas of Indianapolis; her sister Wilberta “Bert” Baker of Pierceton; grandchildren Kelsey Wogoman (Brad), Josh (Madison) Wogoman, and Seth Wogoman and great grandchild Sage Wogoman. She was preceded in passing by her parents and her beloved cat Abby.

A visitation with family and friends will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Ct. Warsaw. Funeral services in celebration of Karen’s life will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 29, 2023 with a visitation 1 hour prior in the funeral chapel with Pastor Denny Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
