Judith "Judy" Paton

Judith Paton, 80, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday September 24, 2026 in Leesburg, Indiana.

Judith was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 19, 1946, to the late James K. and Anna (Patterson) Coleman.

She married Robert W. Paton on December 20, 1969, in Indianapolis and the couple would share 56 years together.

Judy graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1964 and continued her education at Butler University obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in 1968. In 1971, Judy obtained a Master of Science degree.

She was a 1st grade teacher at Beech Grove, Indiana. Judy was a bookkeeper at Patona Bay where she enjoyed running the snack bar. She also enjoyed being a tour guide at Amish Acres.

She was known to be a watercolor artist, treasured her time teaching her grandchildren and was a volunteer, assisting the activities director at Lakeland Health Care. Judy was a member of North Winona Church of the Brethren.

She is deeply missed by her husband, Robert W. Paton, son Robert John (Emma) Paton, and her grandchildren, Eliza, Annabelle, Rebecca, Wyatt Robert, and Thomas Ray Paton.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, James S. Coleman.

A celebration of life will take place at the North Winona Church of the Brethren at a later date.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw are entrusted with her care.
