Joseph C. Coonce

Joseph C. Coonce, 68 of Warsaw, Indiana joined his beloved wife Bonnie Darlene at 7:45 pm on Monday, December 8, 2014 in his residence. He was born on March 21, 1946 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Joseph Oscar and Mary Katherine (Williams) Coonce. He is survived by his mother, two children, four step children and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Chris proudly served his country in Military Intelligence for the U.S. Army from 1966 – 1969. He loved to tell stories about his experiences in Alaska, Japan and Korea without divulging any of his military secrets. After leaving the military, he still served through the National Guard. While raising his two children, he worked numerous jobs to support them. He found himself a twenty three year layoff for International Harvester (Navistar) but he survived and was a faithful employee formerly twenty years before he retired. After retiring, he lived in Tennessee for a few years where he enjoyed fishing and having a garden. He returned to Indiana in 2011 to be with his family for the last few years of his life. He was ready to go when he left us and we all pray he is enjoying being free of pain and holding his wife in his arms again. Memorial services will be at a later date. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw was entrusted with the arrangements.
