John Scott, 79, of Sarasota Florida, formerly of Warsaw, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Pines of Sarasota Nursing Home.

John was born on June 1, 1944 in Elkhart, Indiana the son of the late Maurice D. and Sarah E. (Cormany) Scott.

He was a graduate of International Business College majoring in Business Administration and Accounting. He was a financial planner for 53 years at Scott Financial Organization, Inc. John enjoyed traveling and he loved showing quarter horses. He was a member of the Optimist Club and CASA in Warsaw.

John is survived by daughters: Sonya (Fred) Farhoumand of Fort Wayne, Anne Stoneburner of Warsaw, and Melanie (Derek) Tolson of Milford; son Brian (Stephanie) Scott of Warsaw; brother Jim (Cathy) Scott; and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services in celebration of John’s life will begin at 1:00 pm on Thursday September 28, 2023 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Ct. Warsaw with Pastor Andrea Texeira officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the funeral chapel. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
