John R. Brown

John R. Brown, 72, of Warsaw, passed away after a long illness, at his brother’s residence on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

Born on January 27, 1954, in Warsaw, he was the son of Ridley and Jaunita (Campbell) Brown. After high school, he went on to further his career at Warsaw Plating and worked his way up to Leadman on the Plating Line.

John lived all his life in Warsaw. Sharing his life on January 27, 1972, he married his beloved wife Rita Joan King. They would share in raising three daughters and two sons, making many memories together until her passing in 2019.

He was a lifetime member of the God’s Highway to Heaven Church. He loved fishing and hunting. He was a huge Star Trek fan. He was a fan of 70’s music, calling them the “oldies but goodies”.

John was naturally comical and he was quite a jokester. He loved to share his humor with all. You could say he was a little on the onery side.

John is survived by his son Ridley Brown, daughters, Tammy Brown, Tracy Lisenbee, and Jodie Brown, fifteen grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and Brother Robert (Tanya) Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rita, son Kory Brown, and two brothers, Jerry Brown and Larry Brown.

A visitation in John’s honor will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 4-7:00 p.m. at God’s Highway to Heaven Church. Services will follow at the church on Friday March 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with his brother, Pastor Bob Brown officiating. Burial will follow Oakwood Cemetery.
