John M. Leek, age 81, of Warsaw passed away on Friday January 31st, 2014 at 6:00 am at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born February 22, 1932 in East Point, Kentucky to Samuel and Martha (Moles) Leek He was a lifetime resident of Warsaw, In. He was employed by Leeks Shell Service of Warsaw where he was Co-Owner. In addition, he was employed by the Dalton Gang of Warsaw as an Application Driver, Nelson Brothers Mobile Home Service and Chapman Lake Marina. He was a Volunteer Firefighter for the Warsaw Fire Department, A member of American Legion Post #49, V.F.W. Post #1126 and Elks Lodge, BPOE #802. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1955. Survivors include sons John M. (spouse Tammy) Leek, Jr. of Warsaw, IN, Joe M. Leek of Warsaw, IN, Jack (spouse Teresa) Leek of Warsaw, IN and Jeff (spouse Trudy) Leek of Warsaw; a brother Bob (Spouse Eileen) Leek of Warsaw, IN; sisters Ethel Schuch of Elkhart, In and Vivian (spouse Jerry) Kelly of Warsaw, IN. Ten grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren also survive. Five brothers, Sam Leek, Elmer Leek, Merl Leek, Francis Mouse Leek and Glen Jug Leek and a sister Ellen Nichols preceded him. A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Post #49, Warsaw on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Military Honors will be rendered by the Warsaw American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W.
