John M. Handis

John M. Handis, 86 of Glendale, Arizona and formerly of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away at 6:05 am Sunday, February 16, 2014 in HOV Thunderbird, Glendale, Arizona. On July 17, 1927, he was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Mike and Catherine (Karitas) Handis. He was united in marriage to Joan E. Knepper on July 5, 1980 in Warsaw, Indiana, who preceded him in death on May 27, 2012. John served in the U.S. Army from 1950 – 1952. He was owner of Handis Studios where we was a commercial artist in advertising. His expertise was in drawing and painting signs. He is survived by a daughter, Michelle Kennedy, Tucson, Arizona; three sons, James Handis, Glendale, Arizona, Jerry (and spouse Pam) Koehlinger, Warsaw, Jim Koehlinger, Warsaw; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Graveside services will be privately held with Pastor Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. There is no visitation hours planned.
