John L. Reed, 68, of Silver Lake, Indiana, died on 2/27/2011 at 5:45 pm at his residence. He was born on May 18, 1942 in Garrett, Indiana. John was born to Ervin Ernest and Martha J. (Greenawalt) Reed. He married Sharon Phillips Meisner on August 3, 1974 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. They moved to Silver Lake in 2003.John retired from Navistar, Fort Wayne, Indiana and Springfield, Ohio after 30 years of service and also ran a newspaper route for Times Union, Warsaw.He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw. He was an avid fisherman and fly tyer and was a devoted Father and Grandfather and a very loving and caring Husband. He had a heart of gold and never knew a stranger. He was a giving man to those less fortunate. He went to the Bahamas in 2002, to help with the “Food for the Poor” organization.John is survived by his Wife; Sharon M. Reed, Silver LakeDaughter; Ann (and spouse Don) Wiesehan Jr., Mentone2 Sons; Brian (and spouse Laurie) Meisner, Alexandria, VirginiaChristopher (and spouse Rachel) Meisner, Fort Wayne5 Grandchildren; Zachary, Dusty, Delaney, Dylan and Noah2 Sisters; Marilyn Kay (and spouse Charles) McNall, GrabillJudy (and spouse Harold) Kleeman, Garrettand numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw, Indiana on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Stuart Floyd officiating.. Burial will be private. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana is in charge of arrangements. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Kosciusko Homecare and Hospice, P.O.
