John Brown

John D. Brown, age 76, of Claypool, Indiana, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, at 7:42 p.m. He was born on July 22, 1942, in Warsaw, to Robert and Esther (Tschantz) Brown. He graduated from Leesburg High School in 1960. He retired as an assistant pressman from R.R. Donnelly and Sons, Warsaw, after 42 years. He was a farmer all of his life. After retiring, he operated a boat storage facility on his farm, acquiring many friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, neighbors and his church family. He was a member and deacon of the First Christian Church in Warsaw. In addition, he was a member of Echoes of the Past Tractor Club, Warsaw. His hobbies included stained glass design, wood-working, antique tractors, and playing cards with his family and Euchre Club friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Connie Brown; his 3 daughters, Jackie (Robert) Schilling, Lake Villa, Illinois; Belinda (Simon) Quirk, Melbourne, Australia; and Christy Warstler, Silver Lake, Indiana; one sister Judy Funnell, Vero Beach, Florida; and one brother, Jerry (Lucy) Brown, Noblesville, Indiana; 10 grandchildren, Justin and Cora Warstler, Kevin and Scott Schilling, Jesse, Hailey, Jonas, Brie Scott, Rachael and Adam Quirk; and 3 great grandchildren, Lilyan, Allyson, and Penelope Warstler. Services will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the Funeral Chapel. Pastor Gary Boschain will officiate the service with interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 115 Park Ridge Drive, Warsaw, Indiana, 46580.
