Jeanette Alwine

Jeanette Alwine, age 96, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 4:35 PM in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester. She was born February 1, 1921 in Patterson, New Jersey to Thomas and Jessie (Dykstra) Korenstra. She was united in marriage to Phil Alwine on February 1, 1947 in Michigan City, IN who preceded her March 22, 2005. Raised in Goshen, IN and a former resident of South Bend, IN in 1982 she moved to Irish Lake. She had 25 years of service with Sears in the Clerical and Audit Department and retired in 1982 after serving in South Bend and Anderson, IN. She attended the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Winona Lake, IN. Survivors include a son Daniel E. (spouse Carol) Alwine of Warsaw, brothers Gary Korenstra of Punta Gorda, FL and Francis Korenstra of Syracuse, IN. In addition, one grandson, four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren survive. In addition to her husband Phil, she was preceded by 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Private services are scheduled. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Nappanee, IN. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted with arrangements.
