Jane M. Chinworth, 89 of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 25, 2012 in her residence. On November 24, 1922, she was born in Warsaw, Indiana to A.E. Pete and Helen (Richards) McConnell. Jane married John Chinworth on December 25, 1943 in Warsaw. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1979. Raised in Warsaw, Jane was a lifelong resident of Warsaw with the exception of her time in the military. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1941 and then graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, South Bend in 1944. Jane then served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a nurse. After serving in the military, Jane went to work at Murphy Medical Center, Warsaw, Dr. Alfords Office and then to Dalton Foundry in 1970. Jane worked at Maple Leaf Farm, retiring in 1986. She was also one of the founders of Home Healthcare and Hospice, Warsaw. Jane was a member of Women of Moose, Warsaw Wesleyan Church, Warsaw, Historical Society, American Legion Post #49 and DAR Agnes Pruyn Chapman Chapter. She was also a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and taught CPR and First Aid for the American Red Cross. She enjoyed working for the Telephone Assurance for the Senior Center, a board member for Senior Center and Blood Pressure for Seniors. She is survived by her children; Sally (and spouse Tim) Kolar, Warsaw; Susan Chinworth Martig, Barnesville, Ohio; Peter Chinworth, Warsaw and Linda (and spouse Michael) Wakeland, Mishawaka. One sister, Sally (and spouse Don) Nichols, Warsaw. 4 sister-in-laws, Dora Jane Engle, Warsaw; Katherine Bouse, Warsaw; Margaret Garman, Atwood and Elizabeth Ann Holt, Marion. 8 grandchildren, Jonathon T. (and spouse Melisa) Tyler, Timothy A. (and spouse Sheila) Tyler, Daniel Martig, Thomas Martig, Ashley (and spouse Zach) Shreve, Emily Chinworth, Nathan Wakeland and Erica Chinworth. 4 great-grandchildren, Luke Tyler, Lillian Tyler, Kaiden Shreve and Peyton Martig. Jane was also preceded in death by her parents and a great grandson, Paxton Martig. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, March 1, 2012 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Gale Janofski officiating. Private burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 4:00 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the funeral chapel.
