James Rautenkranz, age 63, of Claypool, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 5:22 PM in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. James was born October 8, 1956 in Huntington, Indiana to John and Phyllis (Cook) Rautenkranz. He was united in marriage to Virginia Fish on September 20, 2003 in Warsaw, Indiana. James proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for 23 years. He retired as a Master Sergeant. He was a resident of Kosciusko County for 25 years. He was employed for 12 years by the City of Warsaw Municipal Airport. He is survived by his wife Virginia “Ginny” Rautenkranz of Claypool, IN; children, Carrisa (Jason) Bruce of Huntington, IN, Eric Rautenkranz of Denver, CO, Valerie Rautenkranz of Yakama, WA, Alex Anthony of Claypool, IN and Emily Slone of Warsaw, IN. In addition, he is survived by siblings, Mike Rautenkranz of North Manchester, IN, Ron Rautenkranz of Warsaw, IN; and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents. A visitation for James will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Funeral Chapel with Pastor J. P Freeman officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN with Military Honors rendered by the American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post 1126.
