James R. “Jim” Tenney, 61, of North Webster, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at his residence.
Jim was born on October 11, 1961, in Warsaw, Indiana the son of Robert Tenney and Christine Anderson.
He was a graduate of Warsaw Community High School class of 1980, where he was an avid sports player for the Tigers.
His family and friends knew him as Papaw Jim, who was a sports encyclopedia and always had the ESPN highlights on. He also enjoyed live music and was a “gearhead” who loved all things automotive. Papaw Jim loved his grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed being with his family.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his children; Chandler (Ashley) Tenney, Syracuse, Brittney (Brent) White, Leesburg and Chase (Tara Creighton) Tenney, Winona Lake; his stepmother Georgia Tenney, Pierceton; a brother Richard (Shannon) Tenney, Fort Wayne; and sisters Leslie (Troy) Stapleton, Leesburg, and Jeanene (Brian) Walls, North Webster, and 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in passing by his father Robert G. “Bob” Tenney on January 13, 2022, and his mother, Christine (Sellers) Anderson on March 15, 2013.
A visitation with family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on March 15, 2023 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels – PIERCETON, 105 First St. Pierceton, IN, 46562. Funeral services in celebration of Jim’s life will begin at 11:00 a.m. on March 16, 2023 in the funeral chapel with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date.
