James R. Reetz

James R. Reetz, 72 of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 11:20 pm Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw. On April 27, 1940, he was born in Charles City, Iowa to Carlton and Darlien (Phillips) Reetz Sr. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 – 1963. Living most of his life in South Bend, James worked as a landscaper for J.J. Landscaping Company, South Bend. He was a former vice commander at the American Legion Post #357, South Bend. He was also an avid pool player, playing in several pool tournaments at the legion. He is survived by two daughters, Theresa “Trish” Hershberger, Warsaw and Misty Montalbano, Crystal Lake, Illinois; his companion, Peggy Kline, South Bend; one sister, Barbara Boggas, Charles City, Iowa; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Sharon Sadler, a brother, Carlton “Sonny” Reetz Jr. and a grandson, Nathaniel Hershberger. There are no visitation and services planned.
