James M. Perry, 74 of Columbia City, Indiana passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 in his home. On June 18, 1941, he was born in Tipton, Indiana to Chester and Sarah (Snider) Perry. A lifetime resident of Whitley County, James served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1963 – 1967. After his service to our country he received his Associates degree from IVY Tech in Electronic Engineering. He worked several years for Magnavox and then managed his father’s company. He is survived by two children, Emily (Jason) Williams, Columbia City, and David Perry, Columbia City, three grand-children, Katie, Jeremiah and Jordan, and one great grand-child. He is also survived by a sister, Margaret (Steve) Flack of Arlington, Texas and a niece and nephew. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2015, at the Pierceton Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be at 3:00 pm with the service at 3:30 pm. A graveside service will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton following the memorial service with Military honors by the Pierceton American Legion Post #258.
