James D. Marsh, 97, passed away in his Warsaw home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
Born on May 3, 1927 in Warsaw, James was the son of Russel and Hazel (Parks) Marsh. He graduated from Atwood High School in 1945
On January 2, 1949 in Collamer, Indiana, James took Jeanette L. Klopfenstein as his wife. And to this union came two daughters.
James was a farmer and started at the age of 14 until he retired in 2017.
He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Atwood for 97 years. He served as trustee and sang in the choir. James was a past member of the Atwood Lions Club and Atwood Fire Department. He was a 50 year season pass holder for Warsaw Sports and was a lifelong Cub’s fan. He attended many Cub’s games with his last one on his 94th birthday. He was a charter member of the bench crew at the Clunette Elevator, meeting for coffee every morning.
James is survived by his daughters, Linda Marsh Olinger of Warsaw and Sandra (Bruce) Ferguson of Warsaw; 3 grandchildren: Heather (David) Ferguson Chiu, Jason Ferguson and Jackie (Austin Taylor) Ferguson; great-granddaughters, Juliet Chiu, Hazel Taylor, Halle Taylor, and a sister Virginia Baker.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2017; his parents, and siblings Mary Hammersley and Helen Sauer.
Visitation will be from 10-12 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Funeral services will immediately follow at noon with Pastor Mike Beezley officiating.
Burial will follow in Stony Point Cemetery, Etna Green.
