Jack D. Keirn, age 70, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 8:50 PM in Kosciusko Community Hospital. Jack was born on February 4, 1950 in Warsaw, Indiana to Hubert E. and Adda Claudean (Reed) Keirn. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Bush on Friday, March 14, 1975, in Mentone, Indiana. Jack graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1968 and was an honorary member of the Mentone High School class of 1968. He worked as a Tool and Die Maker for Zimmer Inc. from 1971-2005. He owned and operated Jack Keirn Snowplowing, Hauling & Excavating from 1982-2017. Jack served on the Winona Lake Fire Dept from 1978 until 2020. He served as Captain and was awarded Firefighter of the year 2003 by the department and was currently serving as a Senior Firefighter. He is survived by wife of 44 years; Kathleen Keirn of Warsaw, IN, children; Amy (Greg) Prater of Akron, IN, Jody (Matthew) Furniss of Ft. Wayne, IN, Jennifer (Landron) Whittington of Fortville, IN, Jacob Keirn of Miami Beach, FL, mother; Alice Keirn of Warsaw, IN. In addition, Jack is survived by siblings; Becky (Larry) Montel of Claypool, IN, James (Linda) Keirn of Mentone, IN, Nancy (Dennis) Dodge of Las Cruces, NM, Rex (Trenda) Keirn of North Manchester, IN, grandchildren; Katie (Jarod) Duzenbery of Akron, IN, Kinzie (Dylan Manwaring) Prater of Warsaw, IN, Layne Prater of Akron, IN, Madelynn Furniss, Michael Furniss, and Morgan Furniss all of Ft. Wayne, IN, Liam Whittington of Fortville, IN. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 10:00 AM in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastors Rick Hurley and Mark Burrett will be officiating the services. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2020 in the Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Memorial contributions may be made to Kosciusko County Cancer Fund-C/O K-21 P.O.
