Henry

Francis H. “Henry” Leathers, 52, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 6, 2024 from health complications at Parkview Whitley Hospital, South Whitley.

Henry was born on February 22, 1971 in Adrian, MI to John Henry and Cindy Lewana Helzer-McCoy. He graduated from high school in California and then enlisted into the U.S. Navy. He was stationed at Port Hueneme Naval CBC in Oxnard, CA and served during Desert Storm. He was Honorably Discharged in 1992.

In Fort Wayne, IN on October 9, 2014, Henry married Sabrina D. Smith. He was a jack-of-all trades and was a self-employed mechanic, carpenter, contractor and truck driver.

Henry was loyal, funny, honest family man. He was a happy and peaceful person with a very sarcastic side. He loved the outdoors: camping, hiking, and scuba diving. He spent countless hours working on cars at home. He was gifted with his hands and in art, enjoying drawing and was a former tattoo artist.

Henry is survived by his loving wife Sabrina of Pierceton; his mother Cindy of Arizona; his children: Mackenzie Leathers, Rebecca Leathers, Destiny Ross, Kyler Kenneth Sian Leathers and Cora Leathers; step-children, Adrianna Smith and Tyler Bell; siblings, John Leathers and April Leathers; grandchildren Dromideus Birch and Tahani Elizabeth Singleton; and mother-in-law Carol Smith.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Per his wishes, no services will be held.
