Helena C Elliott

Helena “Granny” Elliott, 89, of Leesburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.

Helena was born on January 4, 1933, in Waynesburg, Kentucky the daughter of Leonard and Margaret “Maggie” (Carrier) Rice. She was united in marriage on January 29, 1954, to Charles R “Bob” Elliott who preceded her in May 2000.

She worked as a Plant Manager for Wrangler Blue Bell in Warsaw until closing in 1976. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.

Helena will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Bobbie (Steve) Hatfield of Leesburg; siblings, Lloyd (Barbara) Rice and Paul (Brenda) Rice both of Kentucky; grandchildren, Bryan (Collene) Hatfield of Fairview Heights, IL, Troy (Joan) Hatfield of Columbia City, and Krista (Sam) Kim of Warsaw; seven great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Bob Elliott, and her parents, Helena was preceded in passing by three siblings, Jesse T. Rice, Ruby Blanton and Jean Justice.

A visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday December 1, 2022, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Ct. Warsaw.

Funeral services in celebration of Helena’s life will begin at 1:00 pm in the funeral chapel with Pastor Dave Cripe officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
