Helen Shumaker

Helen Shumaker, age 94, of Pierceton, Indiana passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 2:20 AM in the comfort of her own home. She was born March 6, 1924 in Wabash County, IN to Vernon and Myrtle Hutchison. She married Leroy Shumaker December 9, 1950 in Wooster, IN. He preceded her February 23, 1982. She was a lifetime homemaker who enjoyed sewing, canning, being with family and helping others. She will be greatly missed. Helen is survived by children Dennis (spouse J.J.) Shumaker of Pierceton and Steven (companion Barb Hunt) Shumaker of Warsaw, step-children Joel “Rex” Shumaker of Warsaw and Shirley Frantz of Pierceton. In addition, 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren survive. She was preceded by her parents, husband, a son Mark Shumaker, daughter Mary “Sue” Rupert, sisiters Mary Hutchison, Betty Mathers, Geneva Perkins, Thelma “Tootie” Lamprecht and brothers John and Donnie Hutchison. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, September 6, 2018 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jack Worth officiating. Interment will be in Palestine Cemetery.
