Hallie J. Self, 87 of Warsaw Indiana passed away Saturday February 11, 2017 at 10:03 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on March 19, 1929 to Jessie “Hall” and Viola “Odie” (Howerton) Self in Hitchita, Oklahoma. Hallie and his wife have lived in Warsaw since 2004. On July 10, 1952 he married Leda Murry in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, on July 10, 2017 they would have been married 65 years. He honorably served to the US Army from 1951 to 1953 in the artillery. He was employed by Rockwell International as a machinist. Hallie enjoyed NCAA Basketball, gardening and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Leda Self of Warsaw; a son Barry (and spouse Cynthia) Self of Warsaw; daughters, Linda (and spouse Dwayne) of Warsaw and Shirley (and spouse John) Hepler of California; a sister, Joyce (and spouse Floyd) Baldridge of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Services will be private. Burial will be held in his hometown (Hitchita, Oklahoma) at a later date McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted to assist the family for these arrangements.
