Gladys 'Joan' Lutes

Gladys “Joan” Lutes, 86 of Warsaw passed away with her family surrounded by her side on Friday January 3, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born to Alfonzo Ruse and Iris (Luckenbill) Ruse-Fitzgerald on February 14, 1927 in Warsaw, Indiana. She was united in marriage to John W. Lutes on August 3, 1946. He preceded her on January 13, 1991. She worked at Atwood Elementary School in the cafeteria. She also worked for the Atwood Café. She was a lifetime resident of Warsaw. She was a member of the Atwood Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Atwood. She is survived by her two sons Michael (and spouse Carolyn) Lutes of Warsaw and Chris (and spouse Janet) Lutes of Winfield, Illinois; grandchildren Laura (and spouse (David) Hale; Renee’ (and spouse Rob) Parker and Joshua (and spouse Stephanie) Lutes all of Warsaw, Jeremiah Lutes of Los Angeles, California and Malachi Lutes of Winfield, Illinois; Great grandchildren Samantha and Courtney Hale, Trenton and Kiersten Parker; Ella, Lila, and Owen Lutes.Also Joan is survived by her brothers and a sister Sheila Laing of Logansport, Indiana, George Fitzgerald of Massachusetts, Bernard Fitzgerald of South Carolina, Gerald (and spouse Jeanette) Fitzgerald of Georgia, Jim Fitzgerald of Ohio, Tom (and spouse Sue) Fitzgerald of Michigan and Walter (and spouse Bev) Ruse of South Whitley, Indiana and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. A funeral service is planned for Thursday January 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Stormy Scherer-Berry officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday January 8, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana The family request that the memorial contribution be made to Atwood Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 105 E. Hovey St., Atwood, In. 46502
