Gilbert F. Harshbarger, 93 of Warsaw, IN passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 11:20 p.m. at Lake City Place, Warsaw. He was born on March 8, 1922 to Lee and Ethel (Hill) Harshbarger in Claypool, IN. On June 6, 1941 he married Viora N. Zuver in Hammond, IN. He graduated from Hammond High School, Hammond, IN. He was a US Army veteran serving during WW II. He held the rank of Sargent. He was a signal maintainer for Norfolk Southern Railroad. He retired in 1982 after 42 years. He is survived by his wife, Viora Harshbager of Warsaw; a daughter, Susan M. (and spouse Ronald) Kostrzeba of Valparaiso, IN; a son Mark (and spouse Kathy) Harshbarger; Grandchildren, James Yocum, Dr. Kenin Krieger (and spouse Alan Rosolowski), Kerisa Kostrzeba, Jeremy Kostrzeba, Terri Verbeeren, Kimberly A. Copeland, Doug (and spouse Jodi) Harshbarger, Kerry (and spouse Bruce) Johnson and Shelly (and spouse Andy) Knepp also surviving are 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. He is preceded in death by a daughter Judy Harshbarger. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and 1 hour prior (10:00 to 11:00 a.m.) to the service at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Reverend Michael Mueller will be the Officiant. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
