Frederick E. “Fred” Hummitch

Frederick E. “Fred” Hummitch, 63 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 11:05 pm Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. On July 13, 1953, he was born in Detroit, Michigan to Ernest and Laura (Davis) Hummitch. He was united in marriage to Karen Anglin on June 30, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada, who survives. A lifetime resident of Warsaw, Fred worked for DePuy for thirty three years as a floor inspector and porocoat operator. He was also a member of Warsaw Community Church. He loved to play golf, spending time with his grandchildren, listening to music and was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Fred is survived by his wife, Karen Hummitch, Warsaw; four sons, Ryan (and spouse Holly) Hummitch, Warsaw, Cory Hummitch, Sauk, Wisconsin, Tyson (and spouse Acadia) Hummitch, Baraboo, Wisconsin, Lucas Scholl, Palm Springs, California; eleven grandchildren, Kassidy Scholl, Owen Earl, Charlotte Earl, Avery Earl, Kaia, Hummitch, Easton Hummitch, Karolina Hummitch, Cooper Hummitch, Finley Hummitch, Logan Hummitch, Kayden Hummitch; his brother, Martin Hummitch; the mother of his children, Deb Sumpter Dederich and family friends, Doug (and spouse Joni) Earl, Goshen. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Clayton Hummitch. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, June 16, 2017 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Jeff Pfeifer officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation hours will be from 11:00 – 4:00 pm Friday, June 16, 2017 in the funeral chapel.
