Fred “Butch” Boggs passed away peacefully in the early-morning of Sunday, January 1st, 2017, surrounded by family at his home in Warsaw, Indiana. Butch was born in Warsaw on February 8th, 1961, to Ron and Judy Anderson. He graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1979. Butch was a career mechanic, small business owner and hall of fame race car driver who loved his family, friends, and community dearly. Butch was a devout husband of 33 years to Tonya Boggs (Bays), of whom he loved to vacation with in the mountains of Tennessee. Butch’s proudest accomplishment was the fathering of two sons Travis Boggs, age 31, and Tyler Boggs, age 27. Butch shared his love of dirt track racing with both sons, traveling the Midwest and Southeast United States, achieving much success as both a driver and team owner. Most recently, Butch became a grandfather of two beautiful granddaughters from oldest son Travis, and wife Michelle Boggs (Rudoni) – Annika Michelle Boggs, age 3, and Jillian Maria Boggs, age 2. Butch was planning to attend the upcoming wedding of youngest son Tyler and fiancé Jennifer Belt, in late-February. A visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, January 4th, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel. Funeral services for Butch will be held at 11:00am Thursday, January 5th with calling one hour prior, also at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel. A burial ceremony will follow the memorial service, at Oakwood Cemetery. Pastor Glenn Hall and Pastor Hedgel Perry will officiate the service. Butch is survived by his wife Tonya and two sons Travis and Tyler of Lansing, Michigan and South Bend, Indiana, respectively. Butch is also survived by four sisters, Cheryl Fouts and Kay (and spouse Bill) Kelly all of Warsaw; Shana Leed and Jamie Hall both of Plymouth; an uncle James Boggs and grandmother Doris Boggs, both of Warsaw, along with many other extended family members. Butch is preceded in death by his grandfather Fred J. Boggs and brother-in-law Kevin Fouts. Memorial contributions may be made to Kosciusko Home Care Hospice, Inc. Envelopes will be available at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, or donations may be mailed to 1515 Provident Drive – Suite 250, Warsaw, IN 46580.
